The game won't boot and will show a black screen.

I just want to let you know there is a patch for the Mini version. Here 's what the author writes "This is a port of MottZilla’s Wily Wars SRAM hack to the NTSC-U version of Wily Wars found on the Genesis Mini. It makes the game work on emulators and flash carts that don’t support EEPROM saving."
