@ariccio - excellent work. Have you considered making PR's back to the original WinDirStat? It seems your work was also done quite some time ago, but WinDirStat I still use and it is still so SLOW. Of course there are others, but for enterprise use WizTree is a non-starter and TreeSizeFree is fast the UI is just not as informative as WinDirStat (IMHO).
Hey there! First, see this: https://github.com/ariccio/altWinDirStat/issues/4#issuecomment-77050795

Yeah, sadly, this is a hobby project. I spend most of my programming time these days working on CO2 trackers. I'm also still recovering my windows laptop - it died right after a backup that had 25% block corruption, and the prior backup was a few months before. I need to reconcile it still.
WizTree does some excellent stuff to parse the MFT, but it's hard to reverse engineer it exactly.
I'm curious since you mention enterprise use... Is that a reason you can't use this fork?

Thanks for the link, provides some great context on why you haven't pushed your changes back to the original project.

I'm not 100% clear on the license for altWinDirStat - I assume it's still GPL, but downloading a random binary executable from a Github repo isn't the best look. As old as the original WinDirStat binaries are, they are at least somewhat official and I can point to the license being used. I'm quite the stickler for licensing, too often users ignore licensing and just use freeware/trialware for enterprise purposes and violate license agreements.
Plus, there are some weird UI things going on with altWinDirStat, which I'm sure you're aware of. I'd love to see the speed of altWinDirStat + the UI of the OG WinDirStat, but if that's not feasible so be it! Appreciate your reply.
can you please provide exe file
