Thanks for reporting. What is your use-case to change the footer items on runtime of your app? We have decided that the footer is init on app startup and do not change afterwards.
We have a legacy app that we want to migrate to use new plib components and perhaps take on POD architecture eventually. Right now we need to set i18n data dynamically without a page restart. Besides this use-case, imho, displaying data correctly that is allowed to be set dynamically is quite a basic expectation. If not supported, maybe consider baking static column data into the component...

col1 data from 10 items (5 rows) to 8 items (4 rows), reduces the footer height. Yet, changing the items count back to 10 does not cause the footer height to grow again accordingly.Please follow the steps described above with code similar to below to reproduce:
