On multi-tab CSE, NoResultsString not displayed in secondary tabs

To reproduce
1. Set up a CustomSearchControl with an ID for a mutli-tab CSE and set a 
custom no results string.
2. Search for something with no results
3. Notice the custom message is shown on the first tab
4. Switch tabs, the custom message is not shown.

Any luck sorting this out yet?

Is there any sort of timeframe for resolving it?  

I would have hoped it would be relatively straightforward to get a "zero 
results"
message to display on secondary tabs if there are no results, instead of having 
the
current rather unsightly and uninformative blank space below some ads (which may
simply leave users confused).
