Enable license restrictions as an option in the Web Search API #439

A couple of weeks ago, it was announced on the AJAX APIs Blog that license
restrictions would now be available as an option in the Image Search API.

I was delighted to read the announcement, but was disappointed to learn
that
the same filter options are not available in the Web Search API. If this is
not something that is currently in development then I would like to bring
attention to what I feel would be a very useful and valuable feature in the
Web Search API.

While the most common use case for a license restricted search would be for
images, there is still a widespread interest for other types of works
available for others to build upon legally and to share. Not to mention,
the
Web Search API has a much larger domain that is capable of returning freely
licensed results that would otherwise be undiscovered by an Image Search.

Enabling license restrictions in the Web Search API would generate much
more
opportunities to developers interested in incorporating open web content
into
their applications.

The Web Search API has been deprecated and will not be receiving new features.
