Family Safe Results for all Google AJAX APIs #487

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Problem:
How can I make sure that only family safe results are returned?
The safe=active parameter is only available for Web search and Image
search.

Solution:
Please can Google add the family safe option to all google-ajax-apis.

Reason for feature request:
I would like to ensure that people and spiders alike do not find sexually
explicit information in my web pages or applications that use Google APIs.

This would be incredibly helpful for allowing students in K-12 to search for
books in 3rd party apps. Thanks.

+1. This is something that is important if we want to be able to further
integrate Google searches into classroom use through 3rd party applications.

Teachers and students need access to all of what is so available to us through
Google and the Internet generally. Whatever helps our current teachers helps
our next generation.

Unless this is done soon a lot of good work by caring teachers will get undone;
and students, now excited, will lose interest.

google image search would be the default tool in schools rather than the
default block.
