There's probably some discrepancy between the three different markdown processors engaged on that thread, needs a brief dig.
This is because Front follows markdown-as-code conventions and Flowdock and Discourse follow markdown-as-user-input conventions around new lines. Specifically whether a single new line, on it's own, affects the render. Users expect that a new line will count. Coders expect that it will not.
