When visualising your own data and going to protein overview, if you try to come back to the initial dataset visualisation you cannot. A message is shown like this:
"You need to select Project or upload your own files to visualize data."
As it is really possible you want to check another protein or some other data, I think the main visualization view should be kept available until you upload a new dataset or analyse more data.
