Cannot access *.dev when there is no outside connection

Hi,

Sometimes I have trouble getting to my local apps when I'm offline.

I get the standard screen in Chrome:

Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): Unable to resolve the server's DNS address.

What could be the problem here?
