Problem with the update #84

TrainingITClass commented 1 week ago

We had been experiencing issues with the video pro plugin for some time. The video screen was appearing in different sizes each time. Sometimes the video was very small and showed only the play button and little else. Double-clicking on the video even made it hard to enlarge. Interestingly, in full screen, it sometimes showed one set of controls and sometimes another, especially the Picture in Picture control.

I have decided to update the plugin. We are now on Moodle version 3.11.4+ (Build: 20211230) and video time 1.8.2 2024050602. Now we have two problems:

-The videos now appear at a good size and the responsive mode works correctly. However, the picture in picture button does not appear. This button is configured to appear on the Vimeo account. Do you know what might be happening? This feature is important for our students.

Best regards.

Hi @TrainingITClass,

sorry to hear that you encountered issues with Video Time.

Note that moodle 3.11 is no longer supported (by moodle), so updating is highly recommended. See https://moodledev.io/general/releases/3.11

Can you please provide more details on how to reproduce the issue? Which exact steps lead to the issue?

If you don't use boost (or boost union) as theme, can you please try if the issue also happens if you temporarily switch to boost?

I have not heard of something like your issue before, so it's likely that it's caused by a theme or some other customisation that is specific to your site.

Any information on such customisation or any other specific setup on your site would be helpful to analyse the problem.

Thanks Stefan

Hello Stefan, yes, I believe it is a Moodle version issue. I've tested on a test platform we have, and after uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, PiP works correctly. It's a Moodle version 4.x. As soon as we have a slot, we will proceed to do a clean installation of Moodle on the latest version and migrate the entire database. I hope it goes well. Thank you for your help.
