Deletion (?) of posts makes too much content inaccessible #310

Post link:
  http://lesswrong.com/r/discussion/lw/d6m/link_physicists_claim_neutrons_may_travel_to/

In this case I expect the post wasn't banned, but the same thing as in the
above issue happened: all comment permalinks stopped working, and comments to
that thread disappeared from user comment list (Overview, Comments pages).
Example:
http://lesswrong.com/r/discussion/lw/d6m/link_physicists_claim_neutrons_may_trav
el_to/6v0x

I believe this shouldn't happen, comemnts that weren't banned or deleted
shouldn't disappear. If the post, as I suspect, was deleted by the author, this
hsouldn't permanently annihilate all comments to that post, including access to
those comments by the comments' authors.

This gives too much destructive power to the post's author. I prefer the old
behavior where a post can only be disowned by its author and removed from the
posts list, at most the post's text is removed. Other users' discussions
shouldn't be affected, at least permalinks to individual comment threads should
still work.

...and the author of that post confirmed that it was removed by the author, so
it wasn't banned.

A clarification came up: the post was first moved from Discussion to Drafts,
and only then deleted. This is probably what caused the hiding of all comments.
