Disable sound for tweets received

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Un-tick "Enable Sounds" under the options menu
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to get no sound when I receive a tweet but instead I get a new message 
received sound ever time I get a tweet.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
microblog 0.3.0 running under Pidgin 2.7.11 on Windows Vista 64 Ultimate SP2
