“Would you like to join this game as a spectator?” #3945

Description

When you join a lobby, you have no idea whether the game is voted “start” or “non-ready” is about to be voted spectator. I’ve joined lobbies recently and immediately the game has been voted to start within seconds and started the spectator process of load game. It would be great if a message pops up “ would you like to join this game as spectator?” It’s frustrating when you’re trying to play a game and you’re suddenly forced and spectating a match.

Why?

It’s frustrating to be thrusted into a game as spectator when you’re trying to be a player.

“ a start vote is in process. Are you sure you want to join this server?” Could also work…

The start vote last for like 2 secs. But i agree you should be asked to "rejoin as spec" instead being insta thrown in. There is already a setting to not auto-start a game in lobby settings but it applies to both player and speccer.
