Comments not loading

For the last couple of days, I haven't been able to view comments on articles. The articles load fine, as does the main page. In comment view, the error "Couldn't connect to Hacker News" shows.

I have the same issue on four devices, all running 4.4.2

Same problem here; perhaps HN's URL schema or formatting or something like that was changed?

Same for me on nexus 4 and nexus 7, both running 4.4.2.

I uninstalled, reinstalled, wiped dalvik cache, cache, etc to no avail.

Please look into this, assuming it is affecting a large portion of the userbase.

I just downloaded the hot fix and my problem persists. No comments at all. No error either btw.

@rr326 Can you access the comments page and it says "Could not connect to Hacker News"? Or does clicking on list items not show the comments page? Either way, could you try going into Android Settings -> Apps -> Hacker News -> Clear Data and let me know if that fixes the problem? Also can anyone else comment on whether the fix I pushed to the store last night is working?

Yes - the 'clear data' did the trick! Now its working just like it use to.

(For me, I never got an error message - it was just that all the comment functionality had disappeared.)

Thanks Matthew, the comments pages seem to be working again for me after the update!
