⚡️ Bisq 2.0 Market Day - April 3rd 2024

This is a Bisq Network proposal. Please familiarize yourself with the submission and review process.

Summary

Following the 2018's proposal and 2023's to create more liquidity on bisq, perhaps it's a good time to revisit this idea and give it another push now that we have released bisq 2.0. I believe it worked quite well back then and although it didn't reach the objectives it was a great starting point and so it could be a great way to kick off bisq 2.0

Proposal

On the 3rd of April 2024 we will try to get as many people as possible to place offers on Bisq as a way to kick-start liquidity on Bisq 2.0.

Objective

Reach maximum number of offers published during 1 day. If we can reach 1000 offers published on one day we will see a new high in number of trades.

I would definitely love to see some effort directed at these markets. Bounties, market makers, social media, country ambassadors, etc..

2. Nigeria
3. Turkey
4. India
5. China

If we manage to get at least one Bisq2 trade from each of these 5 I would consider Market Day a huge success.

Prep time for market days in 2018 and 2023 was 4+ months. Compare to 1 week lead time on this occasion. Combine this with the lack of coordinated messaging... I'm afraid results will be correspondingly underwhelming.

I hope at least that we learn something from it.

Summary of the Bisq 2 Market Day

The Market Day incentivised market makers, reaching an all time high of +140 offers at once. This is a new all time high although much lower than expectations. I assume all responsibility for not reaching the full potential it had.

Things to improve next time:

• The livestream had worked well on the tests but for some reason needed admin access from the planned livestream that was scheduled. This was a total fail which caused me to create a new link that had to be distributed very quickly to reach everyone. Next time we will use a different platform. (Nostr was too complicated to join as listeners)

• I reviewed bisq 2 for an our and went through trades, different options, future potential, and different scenarios that one might end up with. Would be great to have had co-host but it was difficult to get people to join and the option to add speakers was disabled for some reason

• Timing. The Market Day was planned with only a few weeks in advance. Was clearly not enough time to get people involved, planned guests and make the whole tutorial more interactive.

Pretty good for Bisq2. I think this shows that even with little effort Market Days can attract a lot of users. I'm especially pleased to see India and China with offers!

I think that we should schedule the next one immediately to plan ahead.
