Was delayed a bit with starting as I needed to split up the funds from the cold storage as the tx was too big. Also just hit the max. length of unconfirmed txs, so need to wait until I get confirmations before continuing trading.

May I ask what is the criteria for "best" offer?

I see a few possibilities for Best:

all taken from the order book, of course

  1. Minimize amount of TXs you need to engage in - thus less waiting time and less possibility to run into problems -> Best would be the closest in amount to the amount of BTC you need to turn into BSQ
  2. best as in closest to the ticker price - I.E. minimum slippage
  3. best as in highest BSQ value - to pull the price upwards (and maybe keep the momentum)

maybe something else?

Best offers are those on the top of the offer list, sorted by price. If 2 have same price I choose first displayed (random). If available balance is too low to take an offer I go on to next possible offer. I leave small remaining balance for next trade event and to leave some BTC for minerfee for the burning tx.

I've added you to the contributors team as there is no team yet defined for this role.

Is there a way to keep that public for viewing? Otherwise it creates a bit of "closed club" feeling...

Unfortunately that is the biggest drawback of GitHub discussions. There is no way to make discussions public to everyone.

The contributors team should be considered deprecated and soon to be deleted as per https://github.com/orgs/bisq-network/teams/contributors/discussions/2.

In a situation like this, it's enough to just add someone to the bisq-network org. They can then view and participate in all discussions, and can click 'Watch' on any team(s) they're interested in to get notified of new discussions there.

Regarding the team for this role, by default it would be org'd under @bisq-network/support and would be called @bisq-network/donation-address-owners, but I think this name is pretty misleading at this point. @burningman2 has agreed to write up the refunds process in https://github.com/bisq-network/admin/issues/70, and my intention was to rename the role based on the conversation around what gets written there. We can also start that discussion here and now.

In any case, please accept your invitation to the organization, @burningman2, and you should have what you need for now.

I started to trade but I got a "too long unconfirmed tx chain" exception. This is expected if there have been a tx in the donation address which had a very long chain of unconfirmed txs. I will wait until the funded BTC are confirmed to not risk issues at trades. I cannot say how long it will take, might be a day even.... but hope in a few blocks or hours its confirmed.

It got broadcasted recently and I did continue the trades. Here the case was that one of the trade fees inputs had a long chain of unconfirmed transactions, so I got hit at the first trade even I did not made multiple transactions. The problem originated from the funding transactions which contained inputs which had a long chain.

I noticed you spent $226 in fees to send $727 in a transaction today: https://mempool.space/tx/017ad75383d6efdf10c899a832a1deafc5f6de98647f4fdf080e78a47e8dd6d3

AFAIK there is no rush to use such a high fee of 42.5 sats/vByte... in the future, can you please be careful about fee estimation? Please try to keep it lower like 3 or 4 sats/vByte whenever possible. The site mempool.space is very good for estimating how much fees to use.

That was funds from the default donation address (lots of tiny inputs). Unconfirmed txs would cause troubles with trades, as last week it took 6 days to get 2 trades (with 10 sat/bytes) deposit tx confirmed. If it would have took another week the tx would have been probably removed from the mempool causing more troubles with the trade. But was probably not the right time to move those funds with currently high fees ;-(....

One trade is in dispute as buyer stated incorrectly that I wanted to cancel the trade. The onion address of that fraudulent trader is xgmtwcsohjc3ezpo.onion:9999 in case others want to add him to their local ignored trader list in the settings. Once the dispute is settled I will transfer the remaining BTC and BSQ funds to the new @Burningman3.

Got the dispute finally settled and the BSQ received. Have sent all my BSQ and BTC to @burningman3 . Also started unlocking my bond.

This is my first report. I have bought BSQ from the refund agent 4 times so far. Sun Jul 12 I will start taking other BSQ offers as well. I will try to minimize the fees paid for the giant transactions to collect the fees from now on.

Fees paid

For unknown reasons (probably I misclicked) the fee was paid in BTC for one trade. For burningman that doesn't make a difference since it's a closed cycle of fees for burningman. 34.53 BSQ 0.0138 BTC = 0.0138/0.0000615 BSQ = 224.39 BSQ Total: 258.92 BSQ
