update: I fully uninstalled eqmac with app cleaner and updated to latest macOS. then clean reinstalled eqmac and issue seems gone. only thing remaining is crackling sound in music playback when I get a notification sound. It sounds like a short confusion between sample rates of music and notification sound.

MongoCaleb commented 11 months ago

Have you found a fix for the crackling sound/stutter that happens when notification sounds happen?

benfade commented 11 months ago

good that you´re asking because this issue is still there. I´m running the latest macOS and latest eqmac driver and its still there. Bit weird that a clean reinstall of eqmac seems to work for some time or at least makes it less noticeable.

I have the same issue. It works fine if my Macbook wakes from sleep, but If I pause or reconnect the issue happens. If I wait a few hours and have my Macbook sleep on and off or close some audio programs (and reopen them) it works again.

I'm experiencing this issue as well. For me, it is related to connecting/disconnecting Bluetooth headphones/pods. Once the problem emerges, audio works only if I quit eqMac (even if I don't use eqMac as the audio output device). Reboot fixes the issue until it re-emerges. I try to pinpoint the sequence that triggers it on my Apple Silicon MBP.

Agree that the issue is still here. I fix it also by a restart, however on my side, I cannot see any event that causes it (like Bluetooth disconnect)

Also been experiencing this since updating to Sequoia. I'm having trouble identifying the exact steps to replicate this since it seems somewhat random in how it arises and fixes itself.

it happens when i change devices, e.g. from monitor-built-in-speaker to headphones. latest versions of everything as of Nov 2024.
