Plus addressed email setting cannot be saved #3312

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Go to generator
  2. Select generate username
  3. Change email address
  4. Switch to another page and return to the generator
  5. Email address setting is reset

Expected Result

Save user setting.

Actual Result

User setting is reset.

Additional Context

The browser extension can save this user setting, but the behavior of the mobile client is not consistent with it.

You can't reproduce? I can reproduce it on several phones. I was going to record the screen, but because it contains private information. Won't your email address be reset after you change it? The default is the email address for logging in, but I don't use this email address to use this feature.

I have the same issue with Build Version 2024.10.0 Device: Samsung S24 Ultra with Android Version 14

Steps To Reproduce:

  1. Open the Bitwarden app on Android.
  2. Add a new item by tapping the "+" icon.
  3. For the Username field, click the Generator icon.
  4. Set the Username type to "Plus addressed email."
  5. Change the Email (required) field to a new email address.
  6. Click the "Select" button to use the generated username.
  7. Click the Generator icon again for the Username field.

Expected Result: The modified email address should be retained and not default back to the account email. This functionality matches the behavior in the Firefox Bitwarden Browser Extension.

Actual Result The Email (required) field consistently defaults back to the account email instead of retaining the updated email address.
