Setting custom resolution and aspect ratio #173

Open lynnkzgit opened 2 years ago

lynnkzgit commented 2 years ago

Editing the .cfg doesn't seem to do anything leaving the game still be in 4:3 aspect ratio with black bars and only being able to play with 640x480 or 800x600. The frame rate fix works though. Was curious what the actual procedure is to get resolutions above 800x600 that can respect aspect ratios beyond 4:3.

Are you running the game with the -3dfx commandline? Did you copy and rename d2dx-defaults.cfg to d2dx.cfg and edit that one accordingly?

For me the issue is no matter what resolution I set, the videos are always on a 4:3 AR, could it be possible to show them in fullscreen with only the black bars at the top and bottom?

For me the issue was file permissions. I made the whole dir of the game public, and now it does read the cfg.
