@fmarier @bridiver is this basically the same thing as https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/17145? I'm assuming the CW team would need to implement something similar as https://github.com/brave/brave-core/pull/9990? Just double checking to make sure this isn't a serious issue. It will probably be noticed a lot less compared to the Greaselion
issue as less users have brave://wallet
enabled.
I am seeing this corruption message on my linux laptop:
#sudo journalctl -f

I don't know if it is related, but recently I started seeing something odd related to the "Crypto Wallets" extension, which I do not use and did not install. I have no extensions installed normally, yet after I restart the browser, the Extensions icon appears to the left of the Profile icon. If I go to "manage extensions", I see that the "Crypto Wallets" extension is there and has been turned ON as well as it's setting to "Allow access to file URLs". When I turn these both OFF again, then they are automatically re-enabled the next time I start the browser. There are no warnings or notifications about forcing this extension ON at startup time. There does not seem to be a way to remove this extension. There is a discussion of this behavior on reddit--people are concerned that this might be a security issue. I'm one of them.
EDIT: update: discovered how to disable "Crypto Wallets" extension and possibly this corruption warning I just noticed that the "Default cryptocurrency wallet" setting was somehow changed from "Ask" to "Crypto Wallets". After I changed it back to "Ask", the "Crypto Wallets" extension disappeared from the Extensions list. This setting seems to persist after exiting and restarting the browser. Although it has been only a short time since changing this setting, I have not seen the "Corruption detected" warning that I had seen previously. I will continue checking and report back if this warning reoccurs.
I suppose I could have inadvertently changed the "Default cryptocurrency wallet", but I wonder if might be possible that a recent browser update could have somehow changed this setting. I mention this because others besides myself started noticing "Crypto Wallets" strangeness after the last browser update. Just a thought.
