Mouse Cursor Slow / Lags on OSX 10.8.4 #545

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Open Grafx2 on OSX 10.8.4 Machine (probably also on other newer OSX releases,
as a friend stated)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Mouse cursor should be moving normal (like on my 10.6.8 Machine with same
version of Grafx2),
instead it moves slowly / lags (reminds me on working with screensharing over
network)

What version of GrafX2 are you using? On what operating system?
Grafx2 2.4 for MacOSX (Universal binary) on OSX 10.8.4

Please provide any additional information below.
This problem seems to exist on most newer OSX Versions like Lion and Mountain
Lion.

OpSys-OSX10.8.4
Milestone-2.4

In Yosemite at least, ticking 'Open in Low Resolution' in the finder properties
for the app appears to mitigate this problem.

Probably because you have a Retina display? This is more pixels than GrafX2 can
handle.

It would be nice if you could try the SDL2 version (btw, grafx2 is now hosted
at http://pulkomandy.tk/projects/GrafX2). It should use some hardware
acceleration and not have as much problems with high resolution displays.

We currently don't provide nightly builds for it and I think we never tried
compiling it for OSX, however. You can get the sources using SVN:
