Flashy Flashy startup windows are back #127

At least, it looks like it.

Slightly hard to catch in the act but considering the care we put into trying to get rid of these originally it'd be a shame if they came back: image

Possibly mainly saw because the windows VM was running slowish.

Just saw this on macOS via tunnelled X11 also, so generic problem

Right https://github.com/ndevenish/DUI/commit/7ac65bdbcaa9e8e914345d23949cb28c5b91ea0c does seem to fix it, and the fix is in my working py3 branch for now.

It looks like this was put back in almost immediately after we removed them. Why?
