ArduPlane 2.68 With MediaTek 1.6 Message Unknown In Serial Data #51

I am using HK GCS 1.3.37 with ArduPlane 2.68 with a MediaTek 1.6 GPS reciever 
in a APM1 system.

In the serial data window I get giberish and a lot of Unknown Messages.

Is there something I need to add to the install to understand the data flow?

This setup works in the Mission Planner and QGroundstation but I like HK much 
better.
