In keeping with its mandate to assist Canadian museums in documenting, managing, and sharing information about their collections, the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) plans to provide the resources it creates and the data it aggregates in Linked Open Data (LOD). CHIN is currently working on the semantic representation of actors and intends this project to evolve into a larger LOD modelization endeavour for heritage content in general.
The scope of this project is to consolidate, in unique records, the information pertaining to actors related to objects from heritage collections in Canada. An actor includes any individual (artist, artisan, etc.) or group (manufacturer, group of artists, etc.) who took part in the creation of or is related to a collected artefact.
The documentation hereby accessible is a collection of working documents. As such, although it is publically released, it does not constitute an official publication and changes are made on an ongoing basis. Because of these regular modifications, the majority of this content is presented in English and will only be translated once a stable and official publication occurs.
Active issues will be prioritized and closed issues will be monitored on a more punctual basis.
Le Réseau canadien d’information sur le patrimoine (RCIP) a pour mandat d’appuyer les musées canadiens dans leur travail de documentation et de gestion de leurs collections. Dans ce cadre, le RCIP prévoit offrir en données ouvertes et liées (DOL) les ressources qu’il crée et les données qu’il agrège, d'où le projet actuel de représentation sémantique des acteurs qui évoluera vers un effort de modélisation plus large dédié aux contenus patrimoniaux en général.
Ce projet consolide, au sein d’entrées uniques, l’information portant sur les acteurs liés aux objets de collections situées au Canada. Un acteur constitue, dans ce cadre, tout individu (artiste, artisan, etc.) ou groupe (manufacturier, groupe d’artistes, etc.) ayant pris part à la création d’un artefact collectionné ou étant lié d’une manière ou d’une autre à celui-ci.
La documentation présentée ici est une collection de documents de travail. À ce titre, bien qu’elle soit publiquement disponible, elle ne constitue en rien une publication officielle et des changements y sont apportés sur une base régulière. En raison de ces modifications régulières, la majorité du contenu présenté ici n'est disponible qu'en anglais et ne sera traduit que lors de la publication d'une version stable et officielle.
Le suivi des problèmes actifs sera priorisé et les problèmes clos seront surveillés sur une base ponctuelle.
