About page layout review #494

Open oksks opened 8 months ago

oksks commented 8 months ago

What needs to be done? We're building a new About page (to replace the current one), which should be a home for various aspects of Citizen OS, consisting of several preview blocks that lead to respective pages with more information.

Texts are final, and this is the layout we've come up with for now (illustrations & photos are currently just random fillers).

Feedback from the team:

Ask for @kevincrepin:

Deadline Feb 26

CC @MeelikaH @anettlinno

kevincrepin commented 8 months ago

@oksks I'm afraid 26th deadline is not realistic in my schedule. 4th would be more reasonable, I hope.

MeelikaH commented 8 months ago

@kevincrepin let's consider the 4th then :) Thank you!

Managed to get something done: https://www.figma.com/proto/eHBSunqUv10fMcWmiEEXiv/Website?page-id=10%3A1320&type=design&node-id=4076-1503&viewport=-2463%2C345%2C0.25&t=vEmW5ROH3KDUSHma-1&scaling=min-zoom&mode=design

I would make the team photo bit less high, seems unnecessary to include so much of the wall ;)

I also like the 2 images next to the Team & Contacts but I also agree that maybe now they're a bit too busy – so if you can find some calmer ones, that'd be great!

@kevincrepin it looks great!

Only few ideas to consider before we close this one:

  1. Could the platform tab have a nice "screenshot" of our actual platform instead of the illustration? I think it would be worth it to show our product and not an "abstract" illustration? I also considered a very short animation (4–7 seconds) or a screen recording but Oks had the feeling that it's better to add this under the Platform page. Your suggestions here are welcome! I think the moving picture could help to draw attention to what's very important for us and make the experience more lively for visitors.

  2. Could Democracy Defenders Network also be a photo? We discussed this and it would create a nice rhythm of photo-illustration mix. Also, when too many illustrations are after one another, our user interviews feedback was that it becomes too merged and it's hard to keep attention.

Photo options are following:

  1. https://drive.google.com/file/d/12Evjv8crNS31JB10ChheCUQw1urNWB5p/view?usp=sharing

  2. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f5pW6UkuYmhD7YVwta6R8ZCHkuHXWl30/view?usp=sharing

  3. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zvKuEfUNQ7JzF0gBe7PqR1JJXrKfyNUT/view?usp=sharing

Other than that, I think rest works really well! Thank you!

FYI to @oksks

Yep, I like that idea!
