This project is moving to the backlog due to competing resources and priorities.
This is an outdated project request that no longer represents active work or business needs. DTS continues to publish open data sets as they are identified.
In alignment with our value to default to open, this project aims to publish Right-of-Way permitting data to the City’s Open Data portal. This project also includes identifying a business intelligence tool for permitting managers to ingest, analyze, and report on permitting data.
Background
This project began with a finding from the City Auditor related to traffic control inspections; we were asked to implement better methods for prioritizing and organizing the inspections being performed. These new methods depend heavily on permitting data which isn’t easily accessible in it’s current database. Permitting and inspection managers also need more access to this data, and to have the ability to perform independent queries and produce their own custom reports.
Scope & Deliverables
The project scope includes identifying and publishing Right-of-Way permitting data on the City’s Open Data Portal. Also in scope is identifying and possibly implementing a business intelligence tool for permitting managers to work with and report on this data.
This Github issue represents a project of Austin Transportation's Data & Technology Services team. Project status is documented regularly in the comments below.
