[Project] Digital Street Impact Fee Calculator #6838

Name

Jeff Stensland

What application are you using?

Other / Not Sure

Describe the problem.

I need to integrate the elements of an Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx) into the (Street Impact Fee) SIF page. This is a SIF calculator to allow developers understand the financial impact the new policy may have on their project(s).

Describe the solution you have in mind.

I would like to refrain from uploading the document itself and making it available for download. Instead, I would like to find a way to integrate the data and formulas from the .xlsx file I received and build the table natively in Drupal.

How will we know that our solution is successful?

The Drupal version will work seamlessly and provide the exact same outcomes as the Excel spreadsheet.

Spoke with Jeff on Teams:

I wanted to clarify the ask. You want developers to be able to calculate their fees online instead of downloading a spreadsheet?
Along these lines? https://www.bankrate.com/calculators/mortgages/mortgage-calculator.aspx (Your calculations are quite a bit more complicated, of course.)

Jeff

Essentially, yes. TDS created the formulas in the Excel spreadsheet I included. I need to recreate that on Drupal, if possible.

I explained that this should start as a submission to CPIO as we don't handle anything on the Drupal site.

Update: CPIO/CTM is not able to provide a solution

... they said this would require building something in Java.

I uploaded the .xls workbook to the website for now (Drupal doesn’t accept .xlsx) and could look at how a .csv would work.

Reopening this; would want to address before the SIF takes effect June 2022
