Clementine is by far the best Linux music player I've used, so thanks for all the hard work.
I DJ (if you can call it that) some events from time to time, and would benefit from the ability to preview (solo) one song in my headset while the other song plays to the crowd through my main sound card. Sometimes I have multiple versions of a song, and I need to listen to them in my headphones to find the one I want to play, or just to verify if it will transition well from the previous track. I don't need to do any fancy stuff like beat-matching or cross-fading, I just need to listen to it. In the settings, you already provide an option to select an output for the main audio track. I suppose the rest of it would be adding a small tool-bar that controls playback on the second track, and an option to select its output. Also, a context menu item along the lines of "preview in headset" or "send to secondary output" would make it accessible. They haven't updated in quite a while, but you might find some ideas by looking at Exaile's source. (not sure what the ethics about that are in the open source community) They implemented a similar feature, but I have a preference for Clementine for a variety of reasons.
