WebExtension API compatibility #40

These changes enable full compatibility with Mozilla Firefox 57+, while maintaining compatibility with Chrome. It would be awesome if this was added to the Firefox Extension Hub by the maintainer, as well.

The change has been submitted to the Chrome app store. And I uploaded the extension to the Firefox extension hub: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/pinboardplus/ .
