@emilydatskou or @RJP43, is there any metadata for 1933-01-09HoyerSchrembs? @coconnell22 and his group are unable to locate information on either metadata spreadsheet. Thanks so much!

emilydatskou commented 5 years ago

@cmccraw and @coconnell22, the information for 1933-01-09HoyerSchrembs can be found in the LEDA Metadata spreadsheet in row 86. Let me know if you can't see it and I'll send it via email!

Could you all keep me posted about how you've decided to divide up the encoding work? Want to make sure I know who the point person is for each item!

Feel free to post here or e-mail me.

Hello, Encoding Group—

I added the "Projects" feature to our GitHub page, with a specific project for encoding: https://github.com/cmccraw/LiliElbe_EngagedLearners/projects/5 to track where each item is in our process. Feel free to use this function if it feels helpful for your workflow!

It's still important to tag me in the "Ready for Review" Issue (just so I know as soon as something is ready), but you are welcome to add details to the project cards, or move them accordingly.

Have a good weekend, & see you on Tuesday!

Dearest Encoders,

I won't be in class for the remainder of the semester, so let's communicate here with any encoding questions etc.!

Once you finish encoding the periodicals, spend some time reviewing the instructions for HTML Proofing.

Each item will be HTML proofed twice. Let me know when you are ready for a new task, and I'll assign you an item to proof.

You can track and update the progress of each item here: https://github.com/cmccraw/LiliElbe_EngagedLearners/projects/5

I'm glad to meet with you all outside of class to review HTML proofing, or just be available while you are working together.

Happy November!

A few updates from the fabulous @RJP43, to keep in mind as you encode and proof (@lpatriciobellizzi tagging you as well, in case it comes up in your proofing!).

What should appear in original vs. translation encoding?

coconnell22 commented 5 years ago

Hi @cmccraw I have finished encoding and am ready to be assigned something to proof!

cmccraw commented 5 years ago

@coconnell22 Fantastic! First, spend some time looking over the HTML Proofing instructions.

Note that you don't need to update or even keep the HTML files (except for changing the one line in Step 4, but that's just a one-off step to simulate the HTML on your computer— we don't have any use for that HTML file after you HTML proof with it).

I've gone ahead and assigned you 1932-07-16HoyerSchumann to HTML proof.

Hit me up on GitHub or via e-mail if you have any questions; I'm also glad to meet up next week.

Good luck!

Hello Encoders,

I chatted with some of you in class today, but want to touch base with everyone!

When you have finished a task, you may either post on the "Items Ready for Review" Issue, or go directly to the "Encoding Project Board" and move the item's card to the next column. (Whichever you are more comfortable with!).

Please note that we have plenty additional work to assign, if you are worried about meeting your weekly hours for the whole semester. We have encoding, HTML proofing, website proofing... all the things.

@natashaaranda, let me know or update the Project Board when the 3 Politiken articles are ready for HTML Proofing!

@meehanjm and @btorres34, let me know when the Kobenhavn Interview and Politiken 1 March 1931) are ready for HTML Proofing!

@orionelrod, I have you reviewing @lpatriciobellizzi's proofing notes on the HTML Proofing Spreadsheet and making any changes that you can to the XML. Then, you can HTML proof the Socialdemokraten article.

@svanderveer, I have you XML proofing 1932-01-21HoyerSchumann, and then HTML proofing 1931-12-28SchumannHoyer.

@coconnell22, I have you HTML proofing 1932-02-24HarthernSchumann.

@dshulman2, let me know when MacanBang is ready for HTML proofing!

Let me know if any of your files seem to be missing on GitHub, and I can upload them ASAP (facsimile images, transcriptions, etc.).

& as always, let me know when you are ready for your next assignment!
