In the research we have done on supporting people with dissabilities we have found over 20 solutions that could considerably help this vulnerable group. One of these solutions is EqualSpaces.
Description: The lack of accessibility of spaces for people with disabilities is a general problem in Romania. Although there is a standard where all the rules for the accessibility of the space are specified, these rules are not sufficiently known, often not even by architects or designers. The lack of understanding of accessibility is also evident in the many cases where accessibility interventions are done wrong. With this solution, we propose an accessibility checklist through which those who manage spaces intended for the public can evaluate the accessibility of their space. The second component of this solution proposes friendly accessibility guides, customized according to the specifics of the space. Thus, owners, administrators and those who design any space (restaurants, medical practices, commercial spaces, hostels, offices or even apartment blocks, event spaces, cultural spaces) can easily understand how the space should be to be accessible and people with different disabilities. For each type of space there is also an examples and best practices section that makes the content more intuitive.
Starting from this description and other information you can find in the dedicated report that is available here create a proof of concept of what this solution would look like.
