Use tags for the following:

I am getting this error when I hit COMMAND + S, out of habit I hit COMMAND + S many times.

I see.. looks like we should be able to solve this!

Basically, you're triggering the save multiple times by the sound of it.

We now have an alert in place that lets you know if the file is currently being saved!
