Outgoing request intercepted message draws inaccurate conclusion #79

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Attempt to run test behind a Netgear WNR2000 with Firmware V1.2.0.8

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output: DNS test results

Instead I get the following message from namebench: "Your internet service
provider appears to be intercepting all outgoing UDP packets. Please
contact them to get this fixed."
When I test without the WNR2000 this message does not come up.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 1.0.5 on OS X 10.6 and Windows XP.

Please provide any additional information below.
Namebench runs as expected after upgrading the WNR2000 firmware to version
1.2.3.7.

Placing the blame for intercepting DNS requests unambiguously on the user's
ISP seems a bit disingenuous.

The wording now reads like this as of r551 (available in namebench 1.1b1):

'Your router or Internet Service Provider appears to be intercepting and
redirecting all
outgoing DNS requests. This means you cannot benchmark or utilize alternate DNS
servers. Please adjust your router configuration or file a support request with
your ISP.'

Thanks for the heads up!

I think this might be a Service Provider issue, like Comcast modems/routers.
I'm getting the same issue. The only thing I can thing of is that it's getting
this message is because it's a rented Modem/Router.
