Description

Closes https://github.com/conda/conda/pull/14326 with additional edits:

Replace [[ placeholder ]].[$patch_number] with [[ placeholder ]]
- set placeholder=YY.M.PATCH or placeholder=MAJOR.MINOR.MICRO in config.yml
Replace [[ placeholder ]].x with [[ placeholder-x ]]
- set placeholder=YY.M.x or placeholder=MAJOR.MINOR.x in config.yml
Add [[ canary-channel ]] to avoid hardcoding conda-canary channel
