Blank icon and nothing installed? #89

Open japercaper opened 6 years ago

Fenix looks cool, but...

My desktop Fenix icon is blank. I saw another thread on this but it didn't seem to help.

Also, he desktop shortcut points to C:\ProgramData\Fenix\fenix.exe . I don't have ProgramData. I have c:\Program Files.

Running Windows 10 64bit.

C:\ProgramData folder is hidden on Windows, check your file explorer options to uncheck “Do not show hidden files” or vice-versa as I can’t remember of the top of my head.

Thanks

This is an issue I never got a chance to fix in Fenix 2, nor do I plan on fixing. Fenix 3 for macOS is available at https://preview.fenixwebserver.com. I have a working install for Windows too, but have been battling the autoupdate process for the last two weeks (divided community, TERRIBLE documentation, etc). So, if you want to try it out, I can provide it.... under the knowledge there are a few outstanding issues. But the icon is fixed :)

Noctumus commented 5 years ago

I just installed Fenix for the first time myself, and if it's of any interest, the reason there is no icon is because the program shortcut is trying to reference an icon file on Corey's machine:

fenixiconerror

Whether or not this issue will be fixed, I really want to use this opportunity to thank you so much for making Fenix! I'm just starting out learning about web development, and Fenix was precisely what I was looking for so that I didn't have to install IIS or Apache just to test my code :)
