Most outlets have an overview in bulleted form anyways
Can have a common format to encourage aggregation
Think RSS where the title is the main bullet and content is a set of hierarchical uls with lis ... in fact, maybe this is the format with strict restrictions on max length, no other tags, etc
Needs to of course be categorized/tagged to separate local vs global vs international, politics vs sports, etc
Goal is to let me obtain all news fast across providers but have links to full stories as well
Surely this exists (e.g. "in the news" section on wikipedia en's front page) but quality curation and very large breadth and nested bullets are paramount
Can also lend itself to be somewhat real time for developing stories
If we had semantic web, you could tag each fact in a news story with semantic information and adjust a zoom level for news. So if you're interested in a semantic area more than other areas, your news can be tailored to you. You could literally get different headings to everyone else but for the same story.
