Description

Add sidewalk along Riverside from intersection of S. Riverside and Maple St/129 (at Mobil gas station) to Municipal Place, alongside Croton Commons.

18 January 2023 - committee hears that the village is holding ~$30K in escrow for sidewalk extension adjacent to Mobil station to entrance of Croton Commons. Project is pending State DOT engineering inputs. Mayor to follow-up w/ Bryan Healy on status and next steps.

Upon request from Trustee Len Simon, BPC drafted memo for state Representative Dana Levenberg outlining two asks, including coordinating with NYSDOT to allow a sidewalk to be constructed.

DPW Foreman Scott Marsh said at the Jan 18, 2024, committee meeting that he is trying to set up a meeting with NYSDOT engineer Anne to get this project started but she has not made herself available.

2/15/2024 - Sidewalk on Riverside by Mobil – apparently, funds available (in escrow). Next step: awaiting NYDOT engineering sign-off. Scott to follow-up w/ NYDOT contact on status. Plan to redo ramp at RS and Municipal Pl to make ADA compliant. See related issue #100 .

Area options (see Fig. 1 below): A: As part of the Katz development, plan to have small “green” space at NW corner, installation of crosswalk through buffer island B: Investigating options for a proposed ramp/stairs providing safe pedestrian passage to Commons C: Pending sidewalk installation along Riverside by Mobil station D: Once sidewalk installed, DPW planning to replace corner ramp to make ADA compliant
