If relevant the USE flags on Sage (which is pulling in this package) are:
sci-mathematics/sage-7.6::sage-on-gentoo USE="X doc-html* doc-pdf* latex* modular_decomposition* sagenb* -bliss -debug -doc-html-bin* -doc-pdf-bin -libbraiding -libhomfly -testsuite" L10N="en -ca -de -fr -hu -it -ja -pt -ru -tr" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7"
If relevant emerge -pqv
on texinfo (the package that provides texi2dvi
) returns:
[ebuild R ] sys-apps/texinfo-6.3 USE="nls -static"
New one to me, everything is happening in eclass so the debugging may take a little while.
Do you have pdflatex
on your system [a binary not an ebuild] or texi2dvi
?
If you're asking if /usr/bin/pdflatex
and /usr/bin/texi2dvi
exist, then yes, they do. The way ya phrased it sounded almost like you're asking if I installed pdflatex
and texi2dvi
via a non-Portage method, so hence why I'm asking if that's what you're asking.
That's what I am asking. My wording is awkward because I thought you could interpret it as "did you install the pdflatex ebuild" - which doesn't exist. The log is very light on details. Anyway, pdflatex
should be a link to pdftex
. What does pdflatex -v
reports?

Ok you are on unstable. Can you just go in sage-latex
build directory /var/tmp/portage/dev-tex/sage-latex-3.0/work/sagetex-3.0
and run pdflatex sagetex.dtx
and see what happens.
I'll be ....ed I tried to re-emerge sage-latex again (as the build directory is presently empty for me) and it said:
[ebuild R ] dev-tex/sage-latex-3.0::sage-on-gentoo USE="-examples" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7" 0 KiB
so evidently this package installed correctly later (perhaps from when I ran emerge --verbose-conflicts -uDU --with-bdeps=y @world
). I'll close this issue, thanks.
Hi,
dev-tex/sage-latex-3.0
fails to merge due to a failure at the src_install stage. The precise error is:while
emerge --info ...
returns:and
emerge -pqv...
returns:my build log is here http://paste2.org/dLJ0MZ7U.
Thanks for your time, Brenton
