First, verify that you have the last version of extension : since AMO
makes reviews, it can take some time before an issue is fixed and a new
version released, and it's validation by the AMO team.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Start firefox 17 (beta) with HTML5 Desktop Notifications 1.2 installed
2.Receive an e-mail in Gmail.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the notification, but usually, there is none. On rare occasion
I do see it.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.2 on Firefox 17, Windows 7

Please provide any additional information below.

It seems that it works for the first e-mail received after starting Firefox 17,
but it doesn't work for subsequent e-mails.

Hello and thank you for feedback.
Firefox has changed the way notifications are handled in recent versions.
Please try this one :
http://cyril.me/dl/h5n/ff-html5notifications-1.2.0.1-fx.xpi
Thank you,
Cyril

Hi Cyril,

Thank you for working on this!

The update didn't seem to help with my problem. First e-mail works OK,
subsequent ones don't.

Ok it was indeed two different bugs ;)
Try this one
http://cyril.me/dl/h5n/ff-html5notifications-1.2.0.2-fx.xpi
and let me know :)

Hi Cyril,

I see the same behavior. Is there any diagnostic console output that I could
have running that would help?

Thank your for your help!

Hey there! I actually posted a separate bug about issues i'd been having, and i
happened across this one, which describes my problem pretty well. (So you can
probably make issue # 57 a duplicate.)

I've installed 1.2.0.2 to see if it'd fix my issue, but unfortunately it has
not. I get a notification for the first e-mail that comes through after
restarting Firefox, but no subsequent e-mails.

However, it's worth pointing out that CHAT notifications work reliably — so
far i have received every one that's come through.

Config info:
OS X 10.8.2
Aurora 18.0a2 (2012-10-21)
ff-html5notifications 1.2.0.2

I've been testing the system for long hours without finding the source of the
issue.
:(
Neverming, I'm going to get back to old code :)

It seems that with 1.2.0.2 if I reload GMail after a notification, another
notification for the next e-mail does happen. I don't know if this helps or
not.

Unfortunately, the new version (1.2.2) on AMO doesn't fix this problem.
