code goes into infinite loop while printing "auto"

It means that it tries to switch simulated vehicle's mode to AUTO and I understand that your vehicle cannot do that if it prints in an infinite loop. Can you try from Mission Planner or any other gcs to change your simulated vehicle's mode to AUTO both when it is at ground level and air?
