Thank you for reaching out. This is by design for the predefined screen, but we can take into consideration possibly changing this so I will move this to a discussion.
Using custom screens will provide you additional control over this in the meantime, you can trial Essential or high to see if the additional features are of interest to you.
I'm having a bit of an issue with the "Big Calendar" preset layout. I noticed in Horizontal mode, it works fine (ie: The calendar remains the same size regardless of the font size). However, in Portrait mode, the picture and calendar sizes change when the font size is changed. See images below for comparisons. I was wondering if this was the intention, and if not, will this be fixed?
