Moving Pictures is a movies plug-in for the MediaPortal media center application. The goal of the plug-in is to create a very focused and refined experience that requires minimal user interaction. The plug-in emphasizes usability and ease of use in managing a movie collection consisting of ripped DVDs, and movies reencoded in common video formats supported by MediaPortal.

Moving Pictures may cause PC to unexpectedly resume from standby #483

"I have set my HTPC to go to stand by after 10 mins of in-activity. It has
been working very well but after the install of Moving Pictures it stopped
working. What happens is that the HTPC will go to standby OK, but only to
restart shortly thereafter, typically within 30s-2mins. This happens very
consistently, which is good I guess because it makes it easier to debug

If I disable Moving Pictures (and no other changes to the system) it works
as expected again. I've tried this over and over for the past days and it
is very predictable.

I took it one step further and tested which device this may relate to. When
I disabled the NIC from waking up the HTPC it also stayed in standby, even
with Moving Pictures enabled. That is not my preferred solution though
since I want to be able to wake the machine from remote and schedule
recordings with 4TR.

So it seems as the combination of Moving Pictures and Wake-on-Lan causes my
issues with standby/resume."

Retagged the version number for this issue. This is not a rescheduling, we
are just changing our version number scale.

I met the same problem. Log of Windows 7 shows activity of MS SQL
server
at the moment of event.

Comment #4, your issue may be unrelated to this bug. Moving Pictures does not
use nor
have anything to do with MS SQL Server.

I just changed my multiseat setup by conencting to the server with ethernet
rather
than WIFI. This should give me more stability and wake-on-lan functionality
(didn't
work with wifi).
After doing this, I am also experiencing multiple stand-by-resumes on the
server
(which also functions as a client). It will wake up the server, and go back to
stand
by after a couple of minutes, wake up again after a couple of minutes, and so
forth.

I am running MP 1.1 RC1, FTR and moving Pictures 1.0.4. It has not done this
before,
when I didn't have the Wake-on-lan fintionality.

This issue is still present in 1.2.3.1329 build. I cannot use Moving Pictures
because of it...
