Holographic Buttons are still red after making bindings for them #156

Hi. I have keyboard settings for holographic buttons, but they are still red and I can't use them with the VR trigger. For example, "Engage Supercruise" is set to "J", I add the holographic button, but it's still red and unusable.

Any ideas?

Try restarting the overlay or ED. The overlay doesn't know to reload the bindings file mid-game. It only reloads the bindings when the overlay starts and when ED starts.

Maybe in the future a file watcher would work. Not entirely sure.

Hi dantman. Problem solved, I had somehow gone and removed every keyboard input. Put some new ones in, restarted, everything solved.

I discovered that some button presses like point or comma cannot be "pressed" by vr cockpit. Is this maybe a keyboard layout thing (german) ?

Yes, open a different issue for that. The Elite Dangerous bindings file contains keyboard layout information and uses key names that could be different on some key layouts. So far we've only handled the common en_US layout. We'll definitely need a lot more information (sample broken bindings, etc...) to handle other keyboard layouts.
