Viewing Hidden Files Preference #54

Is there a way to make viewing hidden files an option.  I know I would prefer 
not to see them.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I've tried to hide them whenever possible in .13. I have to do it on a case by 
case basis since php can't really tell 
what is invisible.
