fern probe for client mac addresses failing? #88

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. run fern

2. no problem putting adapter into monitor mode, detecting access points and
choosing target

3. probe for client mac addresses seems to fail, app never gets past that point

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

just says 'automatically probing and...'

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

kali linux 1.06

Please provide any additional information below.

- am cracking my own router, can verify there are 4 clients connected
- running w/ xterm enabled, can see the target, all info looks correct

thanks!

I believe I have the same problem.

-I am using a brand new TL-WN7200ND with RaLink RT3070.
-I've tested it under Virtual box and VMware Player with same results.
-Using Kali- 1.06 64 bit
-Fern wifi Cracker 1.9

If I do things manually ie
 airmon-ng start wlan0
 airodump-ng mon0

Then thing seems to show properly in the terminal session. I see the lines with
BSSID and Station information filed in. However, when I run it through Fern,
the terminal information associated with the BSSID always says (not
associated). I think this problem is likely somehow also related to the wifi
adapter because another adapter I tested worked fine.

Hello, I am having the exact same problem with my alfa wifi adaptor.
My laptops internal broadcom wifi works fine.
I installed an older version of Kali and the problem goes away.
I only began having the issue after the latest Kali upgrade.
regards.

Hi have any of you figured this out? Mine just says automatically probing and
adding clients MAC addresses. Please wait... Does not look like any progress is
being made
