Applying colandr to meta analysis #2

I would like to automate and streamline a meta-analysis. This will make my meta-analyses more reproducible, efficient, and comprehensive. I've started by attempting to reproduce a published meta-analysis, and I would like to determine if colandr can help.

Will the text mining tool built into colandr detect character (e.g., species names, study conditions, species traits) and numerical data (e.g., temperatures, body sizes, biological rates) from scientific papers?

Also, does file type affect text mining? I am attempting to XML, PDF from publisher, PDF from publisher with OCR, PDF of scanned article.
