fitacis appears to have a glitch that makes it ignore my groups ... or fail to sort them. workaround: create new grouping variable and mimic coding from: https://github.com/CourtneyCampany/WTC3/blob/deb9819de629484d641eef6da292a499b2257b68/scripts/shadeaci.R
