Something I find useful in both KaniWani and KameSame is how after every lesson/review you are presented with a list of links to other services. These help to give context to the word you're studying.
Jisho.org: check for alternative definitions of a word. I often add new synonyms to a review item after discovering a new valid definition.
Tatoeba.org: see the word in the context of sentences.
Google/Bing image search: see how the internet hive mind represents this word in an image.
News search: see the word in the context of day-to-day usage.
WaniKani itself: this is sometimes useful in other apps, though may not be as necessary in Tsurukame as I've found I can do most things I want to do in Tsurukame itself (like add synonyms)
A future enhancement could be to let the user enter their own custom URL template with a placeholder for the kanji/vocabulary.
Please add your ideas and feedback. I can make a pull request for this.
