I agree. No instructions offered? I love the PC version and looked forward to
extending my love of the program to my android phone. But not one word of how
to use it makes me sad. I am not a dumb person but a simple run through of how
to enjoy this app would be appreciated. A little help please.

OK, after reviewing possible choices, I opted for KeePassDroid, downloaded it,
and I have the same problems. Stupid to offer this app with absolutely no
help, no support

I'm trying to get this working with synch to Win7 PCs and installed on a
MyTouch 4G slide. I was using SecForms but its wifi synch won't work due to a
udp broadcast bug in Android 2.X, and neither does the sdcard synch work. So I
need another solution. This was easier 10 years ago with a Palm and desktop
synch... anyway this is open source free software so support suffers... but we
can join the team and help document or whatever. So how do we do that?

I think the confusion upon initially running this app is because the
"\mnt\sdcard\" path may not be the external SD card that people assume it is,
so they futilely try to find the file in that generic default path.
After using the OI File Manager (which I was prompted to install when I hit the
KeePass folder-browse icon) I discovered that the path to the SD card was named
"\external_sd\" on my Acer Iconia (Android 3.2). It's a subfolder of the main
"SD" blue icon. Once you actually find the right file, things become clearer.
Browse all possible locations until you figure it out for your device.
After loading the KeePass database (select it as default to avoid future
browsing for it) open a username/password entry in KeePass and go to a website.
You'll see two persistent padlock icons at the bottom of the Android screen
that allow you to copy either the current username or password, which you can
then paste into browser fields.
I agree that a few paragraphs of help or a FAQ of some kind would be useful.
Why keep it mysterious?

Can't seem to figure out how to get database to open even after changing path
to /external_sd/keepass/keepass.kdbx

I am having the same problem when I try to create my password. Enter password
and verify and give a file name hit create and nothing happens.

Also "\mnt\sdcard\keepass" is the directory when I check with OI File Manager

I'm a longtime user of Roboform. Unfortunately, It's not offered for my Kindle
Fire. Everytime I go to a website where I have to type in a password I expect
to be asked if I want it saved. this isn't happening. It's maddening not to
have any operating instructions. I guess I'll just have to look elsewhere for a
better program that will help me use it.

Totally confusing. What a waste of time and effort. Too bad. I've been using
the PC version for years and it's been great.

I agree simple instructions would be helpful. Comments started in 2011, you've
had plenty of time to address

I got this to work on my kindle fire by the following method.
1. Installed app via Amazon app store
2. Opened app
3. Presented with a Open/Create key file default being something like
/mtn/sdcard/keepass/keepass.kdb
4. After browsing my file system via ES File Explorer (nice app BTW) I found a
Keepass folder under the sdcard folder
5. When pdompted for the filename I edited the path to match

Sorry this thing is a joke. No wonder mSecure and SplashID are not free - at
least the UI is intuitive. It comes with URL (really???), password, and
comments with no way to create new fields.
Uninstalled!

Could not agree more with most of these frustrated folk. I too have been using
KP on my PC for ages - great prog. Just acquired Sony tab and samsung duo and
downloaded keepassdroid. Have dug deep into Sony files and found my PC .kdb
file and still KPDroid shows "Database format not recognised".
As with the last chap - I'll have to remove the droid version and look
eslewhere.
Pity?

after installed...
1. goto "/mnt/sdcard/keepass/keepass.kdb" and delete bot the final folder and
file in it
2. launch keypass and when prompted "/mnt/sdcard/keepass/keepass.kdb" change
the final file name (i.e. MyPSW.kdb) or both folder+filename or the whole path,
then confirm
3. insert password two times (ignore key file, that is a certificate file and
you will examine later if and how to use)
4. the system will create your MyPSW.kdb file and prompt two class-group:
email; internet
5. choose which class-group you want to enter new account or, choose to crerate
new class-group if needed.
That's all !!!

I was reading this help and had to explain how I got the program to work.
First, you need to inst all a file program. I used oI file manager. Then
install kpd and created a db. Then I hooked up to my laptop and copyed me db
from my kp onto my android pad. (V1.x) Do not use v2. After that open kpd and
select the db you brought over from your PC. Check UE this db so it knows what
one to load next time.Now. you should see all your passwords. Now open witch
one you want to go to. Launch website. Now you should see two key like. Icons
at the bottom right. Icliicked on them to enlag them and slid the user name off
the screen. Now all you have is password. Now go over to the key and hold your
finger 9n it until it turns high listed.now click on the lock at the bottom and
now it is in me meet. Go past it in your sites password spot. Now all you need
to do is go back to your user name and repeat what you did with key except
after it is hilighted on the top right you will see copy. Just hit it and then
past in site. That's it.I hope you can understand these instructions.

Would someone please enter a usable explanation on how to use KeePassDroid?
Lots of people could use simple instructions.
Thanks in advance.

Okay, comment #15 helped me. I have a different file manager app on my Kindle
Fire, but I was able to locate my .kdb file with it. My file was located here
(worth a try for anyone else who stumbles on this thread):
/mnt/sdcard/Download/[filename].kdb
Hope that helps someone. I was terribly frustrated, too!
