Colors are probably a no from me. I want to keep up the color scheme for... reasons. Different shades and shapes are feasible, though.

I do agree the true image and the after image should be distinct from one another. There should also be a trail linking the true image to the after image... should be relatively straightforward to implement

enemies should be differently shaded or have some kind of outline imo

every game ive played has it and i think its useful for just highlighting what is need to kill

more so because the walls are the same color as the players
